Economic Impact of Fiber: 10 Gig service from OTT Communications over MFC's northern ring helps Woodland Pulp, St. Croix Tissue stay competitive

MFC's ability to make fiber optic infrastructure available to any qualified carrier interested in expanding service in Maine is working as intended-making it easier to bring true high-speed broadband to businesses and communities across Maine.  In the latest example, most of the northern and eastern parts of the state have new options because of OTT Communication's recent decision to light the Northern Ring with 10 gigabit service.

Dan Sullivan, IT manager at Woodland Pulp LLC and St. Croix Tissue in Baileyville, says the 10 gigabit service is "crucial to our business now and into the future" because "remote support from our personal residences has become critical in supporting our 24×7 manufacturing operations."

We need to continue to work together to ensure companies like Woodland Pulp LLC, St. Croix Tissue and others have the tools they need to be successful while providing access to attract new businesses to Maine.
