Maine Fiber Company's new international longhaul dark fiber route from Moncton, New Brunswick to Boston, MA is on track to be completed in October says Jeff McCarthy, VP of Business Development. "This is a unique route, a shortcut from Atlantic Canada to a major hub in the northeastern US. There were plenty of challenges to building this, but our partners to the north and south have done an extraordinary job helping to build this 1100 kilometer fiberoptic network."
The first customers in the route are expected to be up and running by January 2014. "Maine businesses that need connectivity to Boston, Canada and Europe will benefit from having new international and interstate carriers operating here. This is an another example of the MFC fiber network opening up new possibilities for the state." said McCarthy.
